He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Mack Burkett and Sarah Dollie Shrader Burkett; his former wife Wyvonna Burkett; his sons, James "Jimmie" Burkett, Donald "Mac" Burkett and Earnest "Buck" Riffey; and his brothers, Kenneth Burkett and Jerome "J. C.".
He is survived by: his wife Ginger Burkett; his children, Charlie Burkett (Debbie) and Wanda "Sissy" Mallory; and his stepdaughters, Jewell Warren (Pete Meissner) and Sara Campbell (Nathan). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
