He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Taylor Colwell; his parents, Roy Colwell and Dessie Campbell Colwell; and his siblings, Louise Colwell Patterson, Juanita Colwell Stewart, Thelma Colwell McFarland, Olin Colwell, Raymond Colwell and Randall Colwell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Joy Motter (Todd) of Acworth, GA and Amy Hollingshead (Tim) of Woodstock, GA.; his grandchildren, Michael Motter of Douglasville, GA, Michelle Motter of Acworth, GA, Jesse Tucot (Eric) of Kennesaw, GA, Emily Gilbert (Blaze) of Kennesaw, GA, Sara Hollingshead and Rachel Hollingshead; his great grandchildren, Joseph Turcot and Van Gilbert; and his brother Ronald Colwell of Goose Creek, SC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
