He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Thomas and Jennie Brown Thomas; his wife Ermal Sue Thomas; his stepchildren, Patty Harper, Brenda Perkins and Bruce Patterson; and his siblings, Betty Nicholson, Billy Thomas and Lewis Thomas.

He is survived by: his brother Rev. James Howard Galloway. He is also survived by many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
