With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Joseph Peters Sr. in Blakely, Georgia, born in Cairo, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 26, 2024 at the age of 95. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Clyde Peters and Kathleen Dunn Peters; and his caregivers, Amy Herring, Margaret Davis, Dee Davis and Billy.

He is survived by: his wife Joy Chiles Peters; his son Joe Peters (Debra); his grandsons, Joseph Peters (Lindsay) and Ryan Peters Atlanta (Adele); and his great grandchildren, Wyatt of Watkinsville, Georgia., Libby of Watkinsville, Georgia. and Miles Peters of Watkinsville, Georgia..

In 1983 he founded the Georgia Junior golf Foundation and the Jr. Academy.
