Powell of Blakely, Georgia, born in Edison, Georgia, who passed away on August 31, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Powell Powell and Bert Anglin Powell; and his grandson Lucus Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn White Powell; his children, Beth Johnston (Bobby) of Blakely, GA., David Powell (Wendy) of Blakely, GA., Wayne Powell (Trish) of Blakely, GA. and Peggy Jackson (Steve) of Blakely, GA.; and his grandchildren, Julie Richey (Greg), Meghan Williams (Michael), Mischa Smith, Blake Powell (Brittany), Whitney Tucker (Chris), Caitlyn Powell, Madison Gilmer (Eli) and Stephen Jackson (Emily).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Operation Christmas Child project at Zion Freewill Baptist Church in his memory.
