She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Franklin and Carrie B. Mulkey Hand; her husband James Preston Murkerson; and her siblings, Margaret Barfield, Dorothy Smith, Carolyn Cook, Homer, Jr., Raymond, Wilbur, Waymon and Danny Hand.
She is survived by: her children, Janice Murkerson Reynolds (Wallace) of Dothan, Rev. Jerry Murkerson (Deborah) of Blakely and Dr. Larry Murkerson (Lynne) of LaFayette, GA; her granddaughters, Amanda Logue of Bainbridge, GA, Susan Menke of Piedmont, SC, Jana Bearden (Andrew) of Lawrenceville, GA and Faith Pinnell of Americus, GA; and her sisters, Joyce Sizemore of Columbus and Vivian Walton of Columbus. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
