She was predeceased by: her parents, George Bruner of Washington and Cora Lee McKinnon Bruner; and her siblings, Esther Bruner, Edward L. Bruner (Bub) and Marcus Delano Bruner.
She is survived by: her son Chester Stokes, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Lynda; her grandson Chester Stokes (Chet); her grandchild-in-law Taylore; her stepgrandchildren, Tommy Smith, Bill and Katie Hobbs; and also, Blaire, Winston, Hank, James, Leah Moore, Anna, Lily and Virginia Crenshaw. She is also survived by her parents and husband.
