He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Bob Cherry and Verna Nolan; his sisters, Katie Glass, Lillian Nolan and Linda Padgett; and his brother-in-law Willie Farris.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Cherry; his daughter Sheila Hawkins (Alan); his granddaughter Dallas Kuhn; and his siblings, Robert Cherry (Peggy), Dora Farris and Cathy Cherry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
