He is survived by: his wife Nancy Bell White Bates; his children, George Edgar Bates IV (Magaen) of Tifton, GA and Anamarie Hall (Sean) of Colquitt, GA.; his siblings, Burt Bates (Vickie) of Sylvester, GA, Melissa Pope of Bainbridge, GA, Jeanette Kelley (Larry) of Prattville, AL, Betty Meredith (Terry) of Blakely, GA and Marie Pyle (Jim) of Blakely, GA.; his grandchildren, Caleb, Dru, Ethan Hall, Parker Bates and Lily Grace Bates; and his great grandchild Wylden James Hall.
