He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Josiah Reece and Bertha Brown Reece; his wife Naomi Burnett Reece; and his children, Donna Gail Turner and Jimmy Roger Reece.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah; his son-in-law Joe Maddox of Jonesboro; his son Richard; his daughter-in-law Teresa Reece of Blairsville; his brothers, Joe Brown (Hazel) and J. B. Brown (Marie) of Rutherfordton, NC; and his grandchildren, Kellie James (David), Paula Osgood (Jim), Trevor Todd (Sheena), Allen Todd and Matthew Todd (Jessica). He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
