He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas B. Shope Sr. and Mattie Thompson Shope; and his siblings, John T. Shope and Sandra Shope Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Betty Rose; his daughter Angela; his son-in-law Mark Stiefbold; his son Thomas D. Shope; and his grandchildren, Madison, Quinn and Anya.
