He is survived by: his wife Ellavee Brooks Carpenter; his sons, Roy Max Carpenter of Blairsville and Roger Dale Carpenter of Blairsville; and his sisters, Laura Chaney of Carrollton, GA. and Mabel Stepp of Morganton. He is also survived by Twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
