It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Edward Garner (Blairsville, Georgia), born in Athens, Georgia, who passed away on July 11, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gordon Garner and Mattie Irene Hendrix; his wife Betty Jean Becham Garner; and his brothers, Charlie, Warren and Jim Garner.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon Garner of Raleigh, NC, Sandra Jimenez of Elkridge, MD and Robbie Garner of St. Francisville, LA; his grandchildren, Luz (Luci), Alex, Alia and Robert; his great grandchild Alia Rose; his close friend Thelma Sudderth; and his brother-in-law Paul Becham. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Station # 5 Fire Department in Suches in Bob's memory.
