He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Washington Sewell and Bertie Edna Higgingbotham Sewell (Sylvia Sewell); his son Dwain Sewell; and his brothers, Lynwood Sewell, Harold Sewell and Stewart Sewell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon Owensby (Marcus) of Blairsville and Brenda Young (Craig) of McDonough; his grandchildren, Jeffery Owensby (Jessica), Jason Owensby (Emily), Blaine Young, Miranda Young, Dustin Sewell (Hayley) and Brittany Wilkinson (Shane); his great grandchildren, Ansley Owensby, Austin Owensby, Duncan Owensby, Everly Sewell, Teague Wilkinson and Ada Wilkinson; and also Beth Sewell of Tulsa.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the Bold Spring United Methodist Church (331 Bold Springs Church Rd, Carnesville, GA 30521). A graveside service was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
