We are sad to announce that on May 12, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Melba M. Phillips of Blairsville, Georgia, born in Dalton, Georgia. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Troy Young and Ruby Walls of Dalton. She is survived by: her sons, Alan Franks of Gainesville, Donny Phillips (Sandra) of Suwanee and Ivan Phillips (Leah) of Cartersville; and her grandchildren, Seantee McCurdy, Tessy Franks, Lauren Phillips, Blakely Phillips, Hunter Phillips, Ike Phillips and William Phillips. She is also survived by four great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

Melba loved children so in lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital or the Shriners Children's Hospital. Donations may be mailed to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

“I am so sorry to learn of Melba's death. I tried to call her, feared the worst and googled her. She and I worked together for a number of years at UGH and have remained friends since. We stayed connected by phone more recently. She had such a positive outlook and, despite her weakness, she still found the way to laugh when I talked with her a week or so ago. I loved your Mom and will miss her dearly. My deepest condolences to you all.”
