She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Wyley Pendland and Anna Belle Hamby Penland; her former husband Karl Rowan; her husband Benjamin Ed Akins; her brother Farrell; and her sister-in-law Grapelle Penland.
She is survived by: her son Buddy; her daughter-in-law Janie Rowan of Blairsville; her grandchildren, Darren (Stacy Rowan) and Karla (Tom Colwell); her great grandchildren, Sidney, Nick Million, Slade Rowan (Maci), Layne Colwell (Andrew), Crawford Colwell (Grace) and Candler Colwell (Kristen); and her nephew Ronnnie Penland.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 17th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Harmony Grove Baptist Church.
