He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Thornton and Inez Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Mary "Linda" Thornton; his daughters, Jeri Lynn Dalessio (Joseph) and Mary Cacindra Flater (Gregory); his grandchildren, Brittany Dalessio, Anthony Kluba (Celina), Benjamin Flater (Paola), Joseph Dalessio II, Mary "Angel" Flater, Brandon Dalessio and Victoria Dalessio; his great grandchild Robert Rich Jr.; his grandchild Jacoby Rich; his sister Brenda T. Shannon (Roger); his nephews, James O. Hudgins Jr. and Dodd Williams; and his brother-in-law James Hudgins Sr. Jerry.
