He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry Popkey and Mildred Plumsteel; his wife Lois Jean Davies; his daughters, Terri and Cheryl Popkey; and his siblings, Alec, Jon, Robert Popkey, Gloria Elmer and Kathy Kazial.
He is survived by: his children, Lori (Geoff Squire), Beverly (Andy Smith) and Gary Popkey; his sister Jean Gilbert of Blairsville; and his grandchildren, Jessica (Dan Strengari), Beau Squier, Emily Popkey, Emmett Popkey, Jack (Jessica Lazartic), Bradford (Monique Lazartic) and Kirk Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Jon Popkey Genealogy Center at the Lewiston Public Library (305 8th St. Lewiston, NY 14092) in Herbert's memory.
