She was predeceased by: her parents, Edd Thomas and Fannie Pearl Cloer Thomas; her husbands, Worth Sexton and Madison Penland; her son David William Sexton; and her siblings, Vina Cook, Ruby Akins, Thelma Coker, Pauline Collins, Irene Collins, Flora Collins, John Thomas, Nathan Thomas and Harvey J. Thomas.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Judy Sexton of Virginia; her son John K.; her daughter-in-law Tammy Sexton of North Carolina; her stepsons, David Penland and T. R. Penland; and her grandchildren, Matthew Sexton, Brett Sexton (Blair) and Sarah Sexton. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
