It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Byers (Blairsville, Georgia), born in McCaysville, Georgia, who passed away on April 17, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Abernathy and Zora Abernathy; her husband Gordon Hassen Byers; her siblings, Paul Abernathy, Bill Abernathy and Grace Vickery; and her grandson Jeffery Byers.
She is survived by: her daughter Carol; her son-in-law Hal Williams of Dahlonega; her son Robert; her daughter-in-law Peggy Byers of Blairsville; her son Jack; her daughter-in-law Jill Byers of Benton, TN.; and her sisters-in-law, Pat Abernathy of Blairsville and Mary Frances Abernathy of Greensboro, GA.. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren with one on the way, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Because of Covid 19, the family will hold at a Celebration of Dorothy's Life at a later date and will be announced.
In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in Dorothy's memory.
