He is survived by: his wife Denise Carrick Thornton; his stepchildren, Jonathan Irby (Heather), James Richards (Lizzie) and Amanda Richards; his siblings, Sharon Watson, Laura Kauffman (Jeff), Judy Black (Randy), Earl Thornton (Phyllis) and Steve Thornton (Patricia); and his grandchildren, Brynn Thornton, Maverick Irby, Brooklyn Irby and Phoenix Irby.
