He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dale Vernon Shaffer Sr. and Virginia Oates Shaffer; his wife Diane Shaffer of Blairsville; his children, Jody Lynn Walker of Blairsville and Reese; his daughter-in-law Loribeth Shaffer of Sherman, TX; and his grandchildren, Rebalynn Shaffer, Mackenzie Van Walker, CarsonDale Walker and Colby Walker Ives.
