She was predeceased by: her husband Hugh Mathis; her parents, John Sexton and Fannie Sexton; and her siblings, Worth Sexton, Neal Sexton, Everett Sexton, Bobby Sexton, Ruth Cook, Bonnie Starnes, Edward Sexton and Tillman Sexton.
She is survived by: her son Stanley Mathis; her daughter-in-law Janet Mathis; her granddaughter Meghan Brady (Bobby); her stepgranddaughters, Michelle Horton and Amanda Woods (Brandon); her great grandchildren, Jackson, Kaelyn, Paisley and Declan; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Ella Kate, Lawson, Lyndon and Palmer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home & Crematory Blairsville Chapel (41 Hunt Martin St, Blairsville, GA 30512). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Mountain Grace Baptist Church Cemetery (1345 McDonald Rd, Hayesville, NC 28904).
