He was predeceased by: his parents, John Berry Harkins and Bessie Bowers Harkins; and his wife Juanita Harkins. He is survived by: his children, Merle (Angie Fortenberry), Joshua (Amy Harkins), Kenneth (Sharon Fortenberry), Adam (Sara Harkins), Cathy Smith of Jefferson, GA., Camella Harkins of Blairsville and Sheila (Rodney Collins); and his grandchildren, Cody Adams (Casey), Carly Sosebee (Konnor), Ari Harkins (Ridge Runner), Ellie Harkins (Rosco), Stephanie McGoldrick (Brennan), Eric Fortenberry (Monica), Brandon Collins (Ashley), Brittany Collins, Justin and Daniel Fortenberry. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren, and many greatly loved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Berry and Juanita Harkins memory.
