She was predeceased by: her parents, John B. Thornton and Madge Dykes Thornton; and her siblings, Sharon Thornton Dixon, Reggie Thornton and William T. "Bill" Thornton.

She is survived by: her children, John William "Billy" Fletcher of Blackshear and Kristina Bruneau (Michael) of Blackshear; her grandsons, Ethan Alton William Fletcher of Blackshear, Johnnie Mark Williams, III (Corrie) of Offerman, Tyler Shane Bruneau of Blackshear and Josh Kostelecky of Tifton; and her great grandchildren, Wesley Carter of Blackshear and Raiden Williams of Blackshear. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
