He was predeceased by: his parents, David Ward and Beatrice Clemons Carter; and his siblings, Glenda Carter, Juanita Manders and Lloyd Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Dowdy Carter of Blackshear; his daughters, Dawn Harrison (Tony) of Alma and Christi Campbell (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, Kevin Harrison (Serena Strickland), Hope Parker (Dillon), Stephen Harrison, Kate Cline (Craig), Leigh Ann Tuten and Sheridan Tuten; his great grandchildren, Addison Aycock and Maggie Cline; and his siblings, Marilyn Chancey (Glynn) of Blackshear, Laverne Waters of Blackshear and Jimmy Carter of Blackshear. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
