He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Cecil and Evelyn McQuaig Thornton; and his sister Norma Jean Henderson. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Smith Thornton of Blackshear; his children, Stephanie Lott (Matt) of Newnan, GA, Jet Thornton (Amanda Landon) of Blackshear and Kalli Barber (Justin) of Patterson; his grandchildren, Sarah Beth Lott, Anna Leigh Lott, Ret Thornton, Hux Thornton, Mason Barber and Smith Barber; his brother-in-law Cleve Henderson (Sandra) of Blackshear; and his nieces, Paige King (Michael) of Blackshear and Misty Harris (Stan) of Bristol. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
