It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Lawton Wright of Blackshear, Georgia, born in Mershon, Georgia, who passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Thomas and Faye Dixon Wright; and his granddaughter Callie Dean. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Davis Wright of Blackshear; his children, Paula Dean of Blackshear, Amy Knowlton (Buddy) of Blackshear, Marilyn Johnson (Richard) of Screven and Chris Wright (Jennifer) of Blackshear; his siblings, Jan Martin of Blackshear, Cecelia Herrin (Tommy) of Thomasville and Gene Wright (Robin) of Cypress, TX; and his grandchildren, Blake, Blaire (Josh), Haley, Mallory (Brandon), Gunnar (MacKenzie), Mary Elizabeth (Zerek), Ambree, John Thomas and Lawton. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews.
