He was predeceased by: his parents, John S. Bowen and Mamie Bowen (Youmans); his daughter Cindy; his grandchildren, Megan and Levi; and his brothers, Eugene, Sam and Royce Bowen.
He is survived by: his wife Shelba (Moore-Mullis); his siblings, John E. Bowen and Dale Lee (Joe); his sister-in-law Sue Bowen; his sons, Tommy (Michelle) and Christopher (Adam); his grandsons, J. T. Atwell (Nicole) and Andrew Bowen (Lindsay); his children, William, Abigail Atwell, Rickie Mullis and Rhonda Mullis-Herndon; and his grandchildren, Ryan Mullis, Justin Mullis (Michelle), Craig Herndon (Rikki) and Brooke Miller (Erik). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
