She was predeceased by: her parents, Omer Thornton and Lizzie Sinclair Thornton; her husband J. Hugh Turner; her daughter Sarah Joanne Turner; and her siblings, Mary Lou Ammons, Annette Odum, Clyde Thornton and Albert Thornton.
She is survived by: her sons, Larry Hugh Turner (Denice) of Blackshear and Phillip Andrew Turner of Blackshear; her grandchildren, James Hugh "Jay" Turner (Christine Denise), Sarah Michelle Carver (Jerry) and Gage Bray; her great grandchildren, Taylor Madison Turner, Tristan Hugh Turner, Sarah Alexis Adams (Brett Ashton) and Jeremiah Isaac Carver; her close friend Abby Horne; and her caregivers, Marie Carter and Laneshia Williams. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Pearson-Dial Chapel (659 Main St, Blackshear, GA 31516). A memorial service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
