It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammy Thomas (Blackshear, Georgia), who passed away on February 22, 2020, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Thomas and Mary Agnes Daniels Thomas; and his siblings, Terry Thomas, Calvett Thomas, Melvin Thomas, Earl Thomas, Alma Yarbrough and Geraldine Pittman.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Thomas of Blackshear; his children, Angela McCullough (Steve Wynn) of White Oak, Michael Thomas (Yana) of Waresboro, James Shetters (Tiffany) of Yemassee, Matt Thomas (Sarah) of Waycross, Adam Thomas (Desiree) of Waycross, Sammy Joe Thomas (Jen) of Waycross, Shane Thomas of Waycross and Alisha Darnell (Kelly) of Virginia Beach; and his siblings, Sheila Ray (Earl), Melba Steedley, Myrtle Pittman (Bobby), Lizzie Mae Merritt, John Alan Thomas (Mary), Liston Thomas (Darlene) and David Thomas (Lynn). He is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
