He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Daniel "Ed" Bennett, Sr. and Patricia Ann Dobbs Cunningham; his stepmother Sally Ann Parrish Bennett; and his siblings, Mary Jean Bennett, Harley D. Bennett and Edward Daniel "Danny" Bennett, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Suzanne A. "Suzy" Bennett of Blackshear; his children, Michelle Armstrong of Jacksonville, FL, Shane McPartland of Winter Park, FL and Richard Smith of Charleston, SC; his sister Gladys Baker of Jacksonville; his sister-in-law Darlene Bennett of Blackshear; and his grandson Ricky Smith, III. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
