It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nathaniel Kirkland Jr. of Blackshear, Georgia, born in Savannah, Georgia, who passed away on August 17, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Preston and Ida Marie Joyner Kirkland, Sr.; and his siblings, Betty Wynn, Albert Kirkland and Bill Kirkland.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma Delane Strickland Kirkland of Blackshear; his daughter Loretta; his son-in-law Roger Smith of Douglasville, GA; his son Foy; his daughter-in-law LaFain Kirkland of Blackshear; his brother Charles Kirkland (Peggy) of Blackshear; and his granddaughters, Stephanie Evans (Jerry), Holly Willits (Gerry) and Brandy Wynn. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Due to COVID-19, the family will have a private funeral service on Thursday, August 20, 2020.
