It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Merlin Hoaglin of Blackshear, Georgia, born in Pleasant Hill, Illinois, who passed away on December 27, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Michael Hoaglin and Georgia Mae Workman McClintock; his son Edward Dean Hoaglin; his stepmother Norma Hoaglin; and his brothers, Maxion Hoaglin and Carroll L. Hoaglin.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Garner Hoaglin of Blackshear; his daughter Barbara Crawford (Dan) of Blackshear; his daughter-in-law Kathi Hoaglin-Gore (Mal) of Elko, GA; his grandchildren, Ryan Crawford (Jennifer) of Chatham, IL, Jay Crawford (Marcia) of Hamburg, NY, Rachel Streat (Brandon) of Blackshear and Doug Hoaglin (Sarah) of Blackshear; his half-brother Frank Hoaglin of Pittsfield, IL; and his close friend Little Bit. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren.
