He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Walsh and Annis Ray Hester Walsh; his granddaughter Candace Walsh; and his sister Priscilla Walsh Davis. He is survived by: his wife Bette Dowdy Walsh of Blackshear; his children, Wendy (Tommy Kicklighter), Holly (John James), Penny (Ryan Johnson), David Walsh of Cochran and John Walsh of Blackshear; his sisters-in-law, Genita Cohen (Bill) of Holden Beach, NC and Wanda McLemore (Bobby) of Fitzgerald; and his grandchildren, Aubree Walsh, Allison Johnson (Ben), Logan Larson (Micah), Elizabeth Bree Kicklighter, Kole Kicklighter, John Benjamin James, Kamden Kicklighter, Kingston Kicklighter and Benton Johnson. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren with another little granddaughter on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
