He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Royce and Lillian Odell Kesler Odam; his wife Ellen Pottinger Odam; and his siblings, Linda Tuten and Gary Wayne Odam.

He is survived by: his daughter Mynette; his son-in-law David Williams of Blackshear; his son Shannon Ray Odam of Kennesaw; his stepdaughters, Shannon Noele Thore of Kentucky and Tracy Lane Pastlewait of Kentucky; his siblings, Kelly Sowell of Norman Park and Bob Odam (Kathleen) of Hoboken; his niece Mary Odam of Blackshear; and his grandchildren, Laney Williams, Jackson Williams, Carson Odam, Marlow Odam, Matthew Troy Childress, II, Savannah Noele Childress and Brennan Scott Hayes. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
