It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jack Russell Ferguson of Blackshear, Georgia, born in West Newton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Russell Ferguson and Martha Deffenbaugh Russell; his wife Donna Smiley Dixon; and his son Justin Ferguson. He is survived by: his son Brodie Ferguson; his daughter-in-law Marina Pupo of Marietta; his stepchildren, David Dixon (Sue Ann) of Offerman, Cynthia Lovett (Olin) of Statesboro and Angel Knowlton (Kevin) of Blackshear; his sister Sue Kirber (William) of Lakeville, CT; his nieces, Mag Kirber of Florence, MA and Jayne Kirber Hill (Geoff) of Malta, NY; and his close friend Dena McCluney. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (670 Main St, Blackshear, GA 31516). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jack's memory to The Sycamore Tree (204 Central Ave W, Blackshear, GA 31516) or Hospice Satilla Hospice House (811 Beacon St, Waycross, GA 31501).
