He was predeceased by: his parents, William Jackson and Della Kelly Hamilton; his former wife Mary Jaynell Davis Hamilton; his son Eric Lenwood Hamilton, Jr.; and his siblings, Colleen Turner, Margaret Hodge, Leroy Hamilton, Bruce Hamilton, Grover Hamilton, W. J. Hamilton and Lamar Hamilton.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis McQuaig Hamilton of Blackshear; his children, Joy H. Peterson of Blackshear, Brenda Kay Garner (Bob) of Tallahassee, FL, Jan H. Quinif of Tallahassee, FL, Mike Hurst (Khrista) of Waycross and Tim Hurst of Waycross; his sister Willie Dell Johnson of Jesup; and his grandchildren, Andrew Peterson (Elise), Matthew Peterson (Whitney), Rick Raleigh (Meagen), Robert Garner, Patrick Quinif, Mary Kate Quinif, Jackson Quinif, Tucker Barnes (Amanda), John Michael Hurst, Heather Mathie (Brian) and Timmy Hurst. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorials be made to the Hospice Satilla Hospice House at 811 Beacon St., Waycross, GA 31501 or to First Baptist Church, 670 Main St., Blackshear, GA 31516.
