He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph and Grace I. Dixon Griner; his brothers, Joseph N. "Pat" Griner and John Lester "Dunk" Griner; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Lee, Omer "Buddy" Sapp, Donald Sapp, Barney Sapp, Juanita Dixon and Mary Alice Sapp.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Sapp Griner of Blackshear; his siblings, Gracie Griner Lee of Blackshear, Peggy Griner Duval of Blackshear and Jerome Griner (Ludell) of Patterson; and his siblings-in-law, Helga Griner of Eatonton, Kathy Griner Dunn of Midway, Waunell Hickox of Hoboken, Joyce Faulk of Blackshear and D. R. Sapp (Linda) of Blackshear. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
