It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Clarice Smiley (Blackshear, Georgia), born in Waycross, Georgia, who passed away on March 22, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Leander and Ada Rutha Nettles Taylor; her husband George Chyler Smiley; her daughter Wanda Sutherland; and her siblings, Juanita Taylor Bryant, Clarence Taylor and Daniel Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Ada Wynelle Harjula of Blackshear, George (Sherry Smiley) and Gene Lemar (Kathy Smiley); and her sisters-in-law, Frances Taylor of Blackshear, Lillian Smiley of Blackshear and Boncille Barrow of Jesup. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to either Hospice Satilla (808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501) or to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 217 West Carter Ave., Blackshear, GA 31516.
