He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Milton and Mary Len McMichael Buchanan; his son Carl Milton "Mick" Buchanan; and his siblings, Nancy Buchanan, Marilyn "Sis" Snider, Jack Buchanan, Frank Buchanan and Ronnie Buchanan.
He is survived by: his wife Joy Ann Buchanan of Blackshear; his sons, Eric Buchanan (Kim) of Blackshear, Aaron Buchanan (Amanda) of Blackshear and Shawn Buchanan (Travis) of Colorado; his daughter-in-law Amy Buchanan of Hamilton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Christopher Buchanan (Hannah) of Hamilton, Caitlyn Buchanan Walsh (John) of Blackshear, Erica Buchanan of Pearson, Lindsay Buchanan (Erick Rumpke) of Hamilton, Kevin Buchanan (Bailey) of Calhoun, GA, Ethan Buchanan (Jade) of Waycross and Kody Buchanan of Blackshear; his great grandchildren, Keegan Thompson, Kinsleigh Thompson, Ansley Walsh, Korbin Thompson, Kace Buchanan and Alivia Walsh; and his siblings, Debra Krebs of Ohio, Gary Buchanan of Ohio, Mick Buchanan of Tennessee and James Dugan of Ohio. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
