She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Columbus and Elouise Griner Hyers; her former husband Lupie Johnson; her husband Bert Hires; her brother Cleve Hyers; and her niece Anna Lisa Keith.
She is survived by: her siblings, Margie Bland (Jim) of Jesup, Claudia Boatright of Blackshear and Ed Hyers (Diane) of Patterson; her sister-in-law Inez Hyers of Patterson; and her children, Carla Tuten (Terry), Holly Yeomans (Scott), Merry Gayle Boatright (Lin), Dr. Richie Bland (Ava), Joy Kenerly (Lex), David Bland (Arria), Lanna Denison, Ro Aldridge (Rebecca), Horace Moore (Christy), Bethanne Trombetta (John) and Cecilia Hyers. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews; and several other relatives.
