It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Allen Lewis Strickland of Blackshear, Georgia, born in Screven, Georgia, who passed away on August 23, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Lewis and Laura Artha Crawford Strickland; his sisters, Violet Strickland Robinson and Maxine Strickland Simmons; his uncle Abe Strickland; his parents-in-law, Ronnie Carter and Myrtle Carter; and his siblings-in-law, Lucille Rowland, Johnny Carter, Willard Rowland and Alvin Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Lawanna Carter Strickland of Blackshear; his sons, Ken Strickland and Ron (Bandy Strickland); his grandchildren, Kristin Kosonovich of California, Dalton Strickland (Josie) of Blackshear, Kassie Strickland of Waycross and Katy Bishop of Blackshear; his great grandchildren, Emmy Kosonovich of California and Scottlyn Strickland of Blackshear; his siblings, Evelyn Rankin of Blackshear, Brenda Strickland of Blackshear, Roxane Strickland of North Carolina, Precious Melinda Strickland of Virginia and Earl Strickland of Blackshear; his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Simmons of Blackshear, Jimmy Carter of Waycross and Joe Carter (Kay) of Waycross; and his close friends, Alton and Zoie Thornton of Blackshear. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
