Peggie Lee Shropshire Colvin Obituary

Mrs. Peggie Lee Shropshire Colvin, age 87, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020 at her home in Big Canoe, Georgia after battling leukemia. Peggie was born in Haynesville, Louisiana on November 22, 1932 to the late Roy and Eunice Shropshire. She was the eldest of 5 children; Judy Crownover, Anita Duke, Linda Barker, and David Nadrchal.

Peggie was a graduate of Minden High School, class of 1952, in Minden, Louisiana. She married her high school sweetheart, Leonard Calhoun Colvin, also of Minden. They spent 67 wonderful years together building a family and traveling all over the world. Sadly, Peggie's husband Leonard, passed away in 2019. Peggie and Leonard had 3 children, Peggie Lynn Robinson, Richard Colvin, and Susan Heard.

Peggie Lynn is deceased, but Peggie Lynn's sons, Dennis and Michael Robinson, survive. Dennis and his wife Ali have one child, Morris. Michael and his wife Donna also survive. Peggie and Leonard's other daughter, Susan Heard and husband Sandy Heard, have three children: twin daughters Jennifer and Jessica, and a son named Matthew.

Also surviving are Peggie and Leonard's son Richard Colvin and his 2 children, Tiffany and Dustin. There are also two great grandchildren, Henry Hensley and Morris Robinson, as well as Peggie's sisters Anita Duke and Linda Barker, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Peggie was an active member of her communities in Minden, Louisiana and in Gainesville, Georgia.

She was a scout leader, Sunday School teacher, school volunteer, and member of the Jaynes. She was an avid reader and a member of several book clubs. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, and cooking. Her good friend, Landa Maddox, was especially kind and helpful to her over the years. Since social distancing is in place at this time due to the coronavirus, a memorial service and visitation is not possible.
