With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Davis Simmons Jr. of Big Canoe, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 30, 2024 at the age of 94. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Simmons and Alice Day Simmons; his wife Annie Christine Parks; and his siblings, Mary Peterman, Annie Cheatham (Ann), Lonnie Simmons, Larry Simmons and Billy Simmons.
He is survived by: his son Allen Davis Simmons (Randy); and his brothers, John Simmons, Frank Simmons (Judy), Bobby Simmons (Nancy), Cecil Simmons and Timmy Simmons (Diane). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home (437 Sunset Ave, Asheboro, NC 27203). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the High Pine Wesleyan Church (4492 High Pine Church Road, Asheboro, NC 27205).
