It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James R. Bays of Bethlehem, Georgia, who passed away on March 9, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Bays and Othella Richardson Bays; his son Joshua Steed; his brother David Bayes; his nephew Michael Bayes; and his grandchild Donavon Bays.
He is survived by: his wife Melanie House Bays; his children, Zachary Bays (Janelle), Austin Steed (Julianne), Jason Bays and Jennifer Meadows; his daughter-in-law Jamie Steed; his grandchildren, John Steed, Jace Steed, Baby Boy Bays, Alora Steed and Hope Meadows; his sister-in-law Veta Weatherford; and his nephews, Larry Bayes (Dena), Waylon (Tammy) and Marty Weatherford.
