He was predeceased by: his parents, George T. Hamner and Margaret R. Hamner; and his brother George T. Hamner Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Annette B. Hamner; his children, William E. Hamner, Robert G Hamner (Bernice) and Margaret A. Hamner (David); and his close friend Sandy Barnard. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
