He was predeceased by: his parents, Garlon Charlie and Evelyn Rushing Rogers of Manassas; his brothers, Gene, Lawrence and Neil Rogers; and his sister-in-law Libby Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Henri Etta Walea Rogers of Bellville; his sons, Stephen G. Rogers (Lisa) of Statesboro and James Walea Rogers, Sr. (Cyndi) of Claxton; his grandchildren, James Walea Rogers, Jr. (Lauren) of Garfield, Stephen Garlon Rogers, Jr., Payton Rae Rogers, Joshua Wesley Rogers and Jacob Wyatt Rogers; his siblings, Wayne Rogers (Kim) of Watkinsville, Georgia and Faye Rogers Kemp (Harold) of Claxton; his sisters-in-law, Wanda Cadwell Rogers of Chauncey and Paula Kelly Rogers of Eastman, Georgia.; and his caregivers, Sandy Barnard, Sharon Conyers and Maude Robinson. He is also survived by cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (313 W Main St, Claxton, GA 30417-1707). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
