With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Sellers Carter (Baxley, Georgia), who passed away on October 27, 2024 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Quinton (L. Q.) and Virginia Miles Sellers; her brothers, Rudy Quinton Sellers and Ronnie Zeke Sellers; and her daughter Julie Carter Cloud.
She is survived by: her husband James Edward Carter of Surrency; her son Doy Edward Carter of Savannah; and her caregivers, Dana Edenfield, Lavay Davis, Margaret Tilson, Marie Gill, Charlotte Jackson, Renee Clemons, Ashley Cooper and N'Cosse Dobson.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Memorial Freewill Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's name to the cemetery funds at Memorial Freewill Baptist Church, 3335 Holmesville Road, Surrency, Georgia, 31563, Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 525 Zion Baptist Church Road, Baxley, Georgia, 31513, or the donor's favorite charity.
