He was predeceased by: his father John D. Burkhalter; his son J. George Burkhalter; and his siblings, Mary Herrington Armstrong, James Burkhalter, Daniel "Ted" Burkhalter and Wendell Burkhalter.
He is survived by: his daughter Anita Williamson; his grandchildren, Harley Selph (Ladson) of Alamo, Cassie Williamson of Statesboro and Cane Burkhalter of Tarrytown; his great grandchild Boone Selph of Alamo; and his siblings, Joyce Burkhalter Stafford of Alamo, Henry Herrington (Jennifer) of California and Robert Earl Herrington (Shelia) of Alamo.
